Makhana (Fox Nuts), Coconut (Grated), Pistachio, Almond, Cashew, Cardamom.
Here is a Step-by-Step Instruction
1. Pour & Mix
Pour the Makhana Kheer Mix into 400 ml of boiling milk. Keep stirring to avoid any lumps. Note: Take out the garnish packet before pouring the mixture into milk
2. Add Sweetener:
The premix has no added sugars. Sweeten it the way you like it. May use sugar, or jaggery.
3. Simmer
Stir for about 8-10 minutes until the kheer thickens up nicely. You’ll notice malai (cream) forming on top & the mix begins to boil – that’s when you know it’s ready..
4. Garnish & Enjoy
Finish with a sprinkle of our special garnish – almonds, pistachios, and more – and enjoy a dessert that’s as beautiful as it is delicious, just like in the heart of Mithila.

Tips from Kalpana’s Kitchen to make sure your kheer is a delightful experience every time:
1. Keep stirring the pot while the kheer is being cooked!
2. You may adjust the amount of milk to make the kheer more runny or thicker. We recommend 400 ml of cow milk to begin with.
3. Cooking for more than a few boils will thicken the kheer’s texture, and make it creamier. However, you don’t want to burn away all the milk, it’ll make Kheer lumpy!
4. Save the garnish for last, when you are about to serve the kheer in bowls.
I prefer adding the sweetener, sugar, or jaggery, after 3-5 mins of the kheer mix simmering in the milk.
5. Don’t forget to experiment with kheer pairings. Try bananas, anaar (pomegranate), strawberries, kalakand, kala-jamun!
