Not All Thekua Is Made the Same Way.

Only Atta, Never Maida

Most bought thekua is made with maida. Without proper aeration, it turns hard and dense. We use only whole wheat atta, every batch.

Ghee, In the Right Proportion

Too little ghee and thekua turns dry. Too much, and the texture falls apart. We work pure ghee into the dough by hand, in the right amount, every time.

Slow Frying, The Right Shape

We fry each batch low and slow. That's what gives it a crunchy outside and a soft inside — a small detail that makes all the difference.

Ingredients: Whole Wheat Atta, Desi Ghee, Jaggery, Dried Coconut, Rice Bran Oil, Saunf, Elaichi. The Dry Fruit jar also adds Almond, Cashew, and Pistachio.

Before You Choose, See the Difference

Off-the-Shelf Thekua

  • Often bland — misses the saunf, elaichi, and whole spices that give thekua its real flavour
  • Can turn out all hard, or soft like raw bread — usually maida or a ghee substitute, plus over- or under-frying
  • A jar on a shelf can already be several weeks old by the time it reaches you

JhaJi Thekua

  • Full of flavour, from real saunf, elaichi, and whole spices, every batch
  • Crunchy outside, soft inside — pure ghee, worked in by hand, fried low and slow
  • Shipped within a week of coming out of the pan

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Original and Dry Fruit?

Same dough, same ghee, same sancha, same slow fry. Dry Fruit adds almond, cashew, and pistachio, each roasted separately and folded in, for a richer, more textured bite. It's the one built for gifting; Original is the everyday classic.

Does it have maida?

Never. Just whole wheat atta, worked with pure ghee. No maida, no shortcuts, no regrets.

How long does it stay fresh?

Thekua has a 60-day shelf life — but we ship it to you within 7 days of frying, so most of that window is still ahead of you when it arrives. Keep it in a cool, dry place, and it'll happily wait for your next cup of chai.

Does it contain nuts?

Thekua Original is nut-free. The Dry Fruit jar contains almond, cashew, and pistachio — a major allergen. Worth checking before gifting or sharing, especially in a mixed bundle.

How soon will it reach me?

Anywhere in India, within 7 days of ordering. It leaves our kitchen the same week it's fried — freshness doesn't like to wait around, and neither should you.

Is thekua only a festive-season thing?

Not even close. Thekua was born in festival season, but chai doesn't check a calendar. Add a jar to your everyday tea-time and see how fast "just for festivals" becomes "just because."
